implant surgery does not hurt. All you need is local anesthetic. Problem is that if you remov e #7 and #10, even with a bone graft, the bone usually shrinks and an implant connot be paced there. I say it was poor planning by the dentists involved. #7 and #10 implants must be placed at the time of extraction. I think the swelling is due to the surgeon putting th eimplant thru the bone and into the gum. Good chance it will fail.
