I can't remember the name of this book...?

The book is about a black girl who has a disease that makes her feel others pain.. An empathy disease.. I don't remember a whole lot... but I remember there were scavengers and the city where the girl lived was destroyed... The girl ended up losing her family and had to run away from her home and fend for herself... I really wish I could remember more lol
